Directions: Wilkes Way Villa is located at the end of a secluded lane (Wilkes Way) that runs off Waikawa Road - the main road from Picton to Waikawa Bay. It is a 5 minute drive from the centre of Picton and the ferry terminal.
About Wilkes Way Villa
From Wilkes Way Villa it is three minute walk takes you to the lively Waikawa Marina, home to 600 boats, a café/bar and to stingray that cruise the warm waters. Walk for thirty minutes along a track and you will reach another marina and the shops, cafes, library etc. of Picton township.
Waikawa Bay is the Gateway to Queen Charlotte Sounds and several charter boat businesses operate taking tourists to a bird sanctuary, diving spots or on scenic cruises.
There are many well-known wineries between Picton and Blenheim, and these offer wine-tasting and café dining. You can join an organised tour, or drive for 30 minutes, or even take a bike ride through the vineyards.
Recently retired from education careers in Auckland and Australia, Tim and Heather Oughton are excited to be hosting you in their beloved Waikawa Bay. They have holidayed here for 17 years and love all that the Marlborough Sounds has to offer – hiking, fishing, diving and boating.
