This stately villa has been restored in keeping with its gracious style and era, offering unique accommodation set in mature gardens and surrounded by five acres of native bush, yet only a short stroll to Picton's centre.

Palmira Lodge, has 4 Balcony Rooms, with en suite,Tea & coffee making,fridge, all individually decorated,with beautiful decor. Each Balcony room has a sea and pool views. Room 1 has a Queen Bed and a single bed sleeps up up to 3 people. Rooms 2 & 3 have Supper king beds and a single bed.Room 4 has a super king four Poster Bed,chaise longue, and is ideal for honey moon, anniversaries and that special occasion. with complementary Bubbles and fruit bowl.We have a ground floor studio room with own en suite,Queen Bed sleeps 2.On the ground floor there is a unique shared, fully equipped Kitchen,Dinning and lounge area where a continental breakfast is served. The lounge leads out to the Heated Salt water swimming pool,Spa pool,BBQ area, tables and chairs,sun umbrellas,to relax around the pool. Children under 16 years are not Allowed, Champagne, wine and beer available extra cost. Check in 2.30 pm to 8 pm, Check out at 10 am

From Wilkes Way Villa it is three minute walk takes you to the lively Waikawa Marina, home to 600 boats, a café/bar and to stingray that cruise the warm waters. Walk for thirty minutes along a track and you will reach another marina and the shops, cafes, library etc. of Picton township.
Waikawa Bay is the Gateway to Queen Charlotte Sounds and several charter boat businesses operate taking tourists to a bird sanctuary, diving spots or on scenic cruises.
There are many well-known wineries between Picton and Blenheim, and these offer wine-tasting and café dining. You can join an organised tour, or drive for 30 minutes, or even take a bike ride through the vineyards.
Recently retired from education careers in Auckland and Australia, Tim and Heather Oughton are excited to be hosting you in their beloved Waikawa Bay. They have holidayed here for 17 years and love all that the Marlborough Sounds has to offer – hiking, fishing, diving and boating.
